The MusicBank is a series of hacks and tools for managing digital music collections. Most of this is based on the work of the FreeDB group. Since these tools are written in Perl and Java they should run on any platform that supports Java 1.5 and Perl 5.8.

If you are looking for free downloads or a tool to help you get free downloads of music, look else where. The assumption here is you own all the CDs in your collection.

Like you, I have a very large collection of CDs, almost 1,500 as of this afternoon. The problem is where to keep them? Where to keep 1,500 CDs. They do take up space and my wife and I also have lots of books but not much bookcase space. Storing them on a hard disk on my computer was a no brainer but how to store them. This website is about how I addressed this problem.

New Release: The latest version of the MusicBank tools was released on 3 Aug 2009. This version, 1.2, is a minor enhancement of the previous release and is also test of the release process. This release can be found at this link
